Hope CoreEligibilityWho can join Hope Core's classes?
Any Afghan girl who has lost access to secondary or higher education, whether she's inside Afghanistan or in displacement. There's no cost, and no student is turned away for her current level.
VolunteeringWho can volunteer, and what does it take?
Teachers, tutors, mentors, and translators — students and working professionals alike. Most volunteers give two to four hours a week. Every volunteer is screened and matched to a class before contacting any student directly.
Class FormatWhat do classes actually look like?
Small groups of four to eight students, meeting one to three times a week over video or, where internet is unreliable, voice call. Sessions are recorded only with a family's written permission, and are never shared outside the teaching team.
SafetyHow do you protect our daughters?
No class is public and no roster is shared outside the teaching team. Students may use a first name only, and cameras are optional in every session. Every volunteer passes a background and reference check before meeting a student, and a parent or guardian is always welcome to sit in on any class.
VolunteeringWho can apply to become an educator?
Anyone can apply to become an educator if they have a high school diploma and are enrolled in a four-year college program or an associate degree program. High school students can also apply for administrative, HR, IT, marketing, and other non-educator roles.
StudentsWho can join the education program?
Any Afghan woman can join the education program. There is no class-size or age limit, though Hope Core does not provide university-level education.

Yes. Hope Core's education programs are free for students.

Students can initially choose up to five courses from our 18-course program. If they keep up with the coursework and maintain good grades, they may be able to add more courses.

The initial round involves a thorough review of applications. Candidates who meet the criteria move to the next stage, where we may conduct an interview or ask them to demonstrate a class.
